Chapter 4
Eleodora’s POV
I-I’m going to be his fake mate? Out of all the women here, our master chose me to be Twenty-Three’s mate? I’m not complaining since Twenty-Three is quite handsome even though he hasn’t taken a bath in a while due to our master refusing to let him. After being told that he and I would be going to the Sun Kingdom on a mission together was a great shock to me and I could feel the light leave my eyes when our master told us, I was taken to my room with the other maids to get ready while he was taken to another to be bathed by a few other maids.
I felt a ping of jealousy in my chest knowing that they would get to see what he really looks like underneath all the dirt and grim covering him. I know what he looks like, but he was mostly covered in filth, and he always had his back to me even when we were just talking.
“Ele, are you, okay? I know it’s shocking that you have to be his fake mate, I mean I would be terrified if I had to be with him considering what he is.” Aelia said as she brushed my hair gently as she pinned small pearls into my black waves.
The dress I am wearing is a dress that looks like Bell’s from ‘The Beauty and The Beast’ only instead of it being yellow it’s a ruby red and not as puffy. My mother read the story to me when I was little and showed me the pictures as she read.
“I’m, just in shock. I don’t care that he’s a werewolf and could possibly break me in half like a twig if he really wanted to. Though I know that he won’t do that, he isn’t like that.” I say softly, almost terrified to tell her that I had pent my days off talking to him.
“I know, he won’t lay a hand on a woman no matter how badly our master wants him to. I always felt pity for him, especially since Lady Elise hates him. Done.” Amelia stepped back once she was done with my hair and let me look at myself and I smiled a bit.
“I love it, thank you. I wonder what he will look like after taking a bath for the first time in a long time.”
