The night Vanilor's army destroyed my kingdom, I lost everything.
My parents were murdered. My people were wiped out. And instead of dying beside them, I was taken captive by the very king who gave the order.
Torin.
He's gathering every Bearer across the nine kingdoms, convinced an ancient prophecy holds the key to stopping a war that hasn't begun yet. Some follow him willingly. The rest are dragged to his kingdom in chains.
Including me.
Every day I spend in his palace is another chance to avenge my family. But revenge becomes complicated when Torin's son falls in love with me... and Torin begins to feel something he never should. Then there's Duke, the one person I never planned on trusting, whose quiet loyalty slowly tears down the walls I've built around my heart.
While kingdoms sharpen their swords against one another, something far worse is waiting beyond them. The heavens are preparing for war, powerful Bearers are awakening, and a prophecy that has shaped generations is finally unfolding.
When the first blood is spilled, every kingdom will be forced to choose a side.
So will I.
Because before this war is over, I must decide whether vengeance is worth losing the only future I have left.
