“You never told me that ring was made for someone else first.”
Four whole years I thought we had something real. All those late nights, all those quiet moments, the way he’d hold me like he was scared I’d slip away… I really thought that was just us. Turns out every promise he made? He’d said the exact same words before. And I wasn’t his wife. I was just the backup he grabbed when the one he actually married ran for her life.
But when all the lies finally fall apart? When the mask drops and I see who he really is? That rough, smoky smell that sticks to him, the way his hands shake a little when he touches me like he can’t get enough… none of that was ever fake. Every time he kisses me like he’s making up for lost time? Every time he steps right between me and trouble like he’d take every bullet before letting one hit me? That’s all him. No script. No games.
He lied about who he was. Lied about why he came for me. But he never lied about how much he wanted me.
Now we’re on the run together, digging up every secret they ever hid, fighting side by side when we should’ve hated each other. He still got parts of himself he ain’t showed nobody yet. I still got trust I ain’t ready to hand over easy. But one thing I know for sure:
I didn’t fall for the perfect guy he pretended to be. I fell for the messy, loyal, ride-or-die man he tried so hard to hide—and he’s gonna burn this whole dirty setup down before he lets anyone take me away.
No more cap. No more hiding. Just us.
