"Stop working here," I say firmly.
I slide the contract across the table.
Reaching for the cigar box in front of me, I cross my legs and pull out a cigar. My eyes never leave him as I place it between my lips and light it.
"You need money. I need a man."
He studies me in silence before a slow smile spreads across his face.
"Careful, Madam. You're about to invite the devil into your life."
A bitter smile tugs at my lips.
"I've been living in hell for ten years."
I thought a contract could save me from a loveless marriage.
Instead, I unknowingly signed a deal with a man who had been waiting for me long before fate brought us together.
Now, one husband refuses to let me go.
The other has loved me long before I remembered his face.
One wants to own me.
The other will burn the world to keep me.
And I'm trapped between them.
