Viesen were ordained to be mates of Firnes by the Snow Goddess. They were seen to be elegant and estimable, but those qualities did not correlate with Eryevir at all. When she finds herself in Firnes' den, she wonders who on earth tricked the Goddess.
A'xelaan is the nonchalant traveler, the witty book and cigarette addict who's possessive of what he owns. Little did he know that owning Eryevir wouldn't be so easy. And even if he did own her, there'll be forces threatening to pull them apart; forces that have them imagining what ways their worlds would crumble when they're together.
What happens when Eryevir begins to question the feelings she thought she had for A'xelaan? Or when she starts to fall for another who had his seed growing in her?
And what if… what if there's a lurking evil in the shadows; someone who's been controlling the world for millenniums—a force that had them on the chessboard without them knowing? Now, they just have to move around the board like pawns, entangled in a game they never signed up for.
